Icelandic Sheepdog

“The Icelandic Sheepdog is a Nordic herding Spitz, slightly under medium sized with prick ears and a curled tail. Seen from the side the dog is rectangular. The expression is gentle, intelligent and happy. A confident and lively bearing is typical for this dog.”

Icelandic Sheepdog Breed Standard

Our love for the Icelandic Sheepdog began long before we ever brought one home. We traveled to Iceland and had the chance to meet the breed on its native turf — watching them move across the rugged landscape with confidence, intelligence, and a joyful spirit that felt truly unique. Standing there, surrounded by these remarkable dogs and the culture that shaped them, we knew this breed was something special.

We weren’t in a rush; we wanted the right dog — one who embodied the temperament, structure, and heritage that first captivated me. So we waited. For over a year, we researched, connected with breeders, and stayed patient until the perfect puppy finally arrived.

That puppy was Kona — the foundation of our kennel and the start of an incredible chapter. Kona represents everything we admire about the Icelandic Sheepdog: loyalty, versatility, and the warm, expressive nature that makes the breed so beloved. She is the heart of our program and the beginning of our commitment to preserving and sharing this extraordinary Nordic treasure.
